Taylor Anderson
Coach
|
|
|
Coaching Philosophy: Always have a good attitude, play to your potential, respect yourself and your team mates. Most important, athletes have to have fun while they’re playing or they won’t play well.
As a libero, DS and outside hitter in middle and high school, Taylor quickly earned the respect from her team mates and coaches as a strong, motivated player. At 12 years old Taylor began her club career at MADFROG where she played on the very first 12s team, and continued on to Skyline RoShambo 13s where she won Coaches Award for Best Attitude and Best Performance, and at 14 played for Victory Elite where her team qualified for the Nationals, Taylor’s first Junior Olympics appearance. Also, in her sophomore year in high school her team was crowned District Champions.
Taylor’s performance, skills and amazing leadership caught the attention of MADFROG, who offered her a coaching position at the age of 17. Taylor just finished her first year as assistant coach to 11s Select and 13s Elite, who took 6th in the Lone Star National Qualifier out of 150 teams, and finished the season in 3rd place in the North Texas Region.
Taylor’s perspective on what makes MADFROG the premiere club in North Texas – “MADFROG has many great people that help the club progress every year. The players, coaches and parents help make MADFROG the best and most exciting and fun club to be with. MADFROG really makes sure that everyone is happy and has a great time with what we all love … volleyball.”

Amanda Busey
Coach
|
|
|
Coaching Philosophy: Practice makes perfect, and there’s always room for improvement. I personally live by the motto -- no pain, no gain -- always push yourself to be the best.
As a little girl Amanda followed her dad around to national volleyball tournaments where he played professionally for 30 years, fostering her love for the game at a very early age. Not only did Amanda have her dad’s experience to learn from, she was lucky enough to have family friend and Olympian Mark Waldie help teach her the game.
After playing volleyball year-round since the age of seven, including club ball for Kansas’ Heartland Juniors and Wichita Power, and more recently Texas Assault, Amanda had truly perfected her game and was offered numerous athletic scholarships when it was time to head off to college. She has put those on hold for now, retaining her four years of eligibility, and instead has chosen to focus on her coaching career.
This will be Amanda’s first year as a MADFROG coach. Last year she coached a 12s and 13s team for Frisco Fieldhouse and has been a private coach for the past eight years. Not only does Amanda share her passion for volleyball through coaching, she is also a player for an adult club team based in Frisco -- PowerHouse.
My goal: To not only coach and teach skills and knowledge, but to share my love of volleyball with the athletes I coach. I want to pay it forward by helping young girls’ dreams come true with whatever it is that they want to do with the sport.
In her opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas – “Because of the coaches and parents. MADFROG truly stands out in the crowd!”

Pacifico “PC” Conanan
Co-Director, Coach
|
|
|
Coaching Philosophy: Emphasize the fundamentals of volleyball, develop positive attitudes, promote teamwork and nurture leadership skills that transcend athletics into every aspect of a player’s life. My motto is: Learn, Grow, Excel.
PC began his coaching career eight years ago with Take It By Storm where he coached the 13s, 14s and 18s teams for two years, then moved on to Xtreme Power where he led the 13s, 14s and 16s. In 2006 PC joined MADFROG and has since had tremendous success. His first year with MADFROG he coached the 14s National and 15s Select teams, where his focus was rebuilding the 14s age group. The following year he coached the 15s National and 13s Select teams, having a breakout season with the 15s finishing 9th at the Lone Star National Qualifier and finishing in the top 10 in the region. This past year he coached the 14s National PC and assisted the 13s National, leading both to qualifying for the Nationals.
Prior to coaching, PC played on the men’s club team at University of North Texas as a setter and defensive player. Following graduation he played on a traveling team that played around the country including an international tournament in Australia.
In his opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas because – “It’s the sense of family. The coaches are very close to the players, not only as a coach, but as a mentor. Teaching them the game and life lessons. The commitment of the coaches to train, teach positive attitudes and team work.”

Nicky Bramschreiber
Co-Director, Coach

Coaching Philosophy: Life is teamwork. Almost everything I learned about life was through the sport of volleyball. I am a highly competitive coach so I like to win just like the next guy but it is how we win that I am interested in teaching the athletes. Through dedication, a commitment to academics and training, a humble attitude and a servant’s heart, great teams evolve.
Nicky has been playing volleyball since she was 10 years old and began her club career in 9th grade where she played for Dead Frog Volleyball Club in Michigan. In addition to a successful four year club career with Dead Frog, Nicky was proving herself to be a strong, accomplished athlete throughout high school, where she was a middle blocker and outside hitter, which led to a successful college playing career at Western Michigan University where she transitioned to left side and middle back. Key accomplishments in high school and college included:
· All-State her junior and senior year in High School
· Full ride athletic scholarship to Western Michigan University
· Established a new Western Michigan University record for ‘most digs’ her senior year
Nicky began coaching while still in college with the USA Michigan Club Volleyball for three years before going back to her roots with Dead Frog where she coached the 13s and 14s teams for several years, leading them to three National qualifiers.
In 2004 Nicky was approached by Stefanie Rotunno-Samuels, a former Dead Frog and WMU team mate, about starting a new volleyball club in North Texas – MADFROG – and Nicky quickly joined her friend and former team mate as Co-Director. In seven short years, MADFROG has grown from one team to 25 teams and during this time Nicky has enjoyed tremendous success. As a coach, four of Nicky’s MADFROG teams have qualified for Nationals -- in 2009 her 13s National and 14s National teams qualified, and in 2010 it was her 14s National and 15s National teams that made the trip to the Junior Olympics.
In addition to being co-director and coach, with Nicky’s degree in Exercise Science, she also leads MADFROG’s conditioning programs.
In her opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas – “MADFROG is one of the premier clubs in the metroplex because of the environment we create for the players, coaches, and families. We have an elite coaching staff and parents who want to get involved. Many of our players have tried other programs but then come right back because they are challenged, respected, and most of all loved. The relationship we have with our athletes is genuine. We want what is in the child’s best interest on and off the court. Once a Frog always a Frog!!!!”

- In 2009, Kelly assisted Stephanie Lewellen with NTR’s highest ranked 12s team who qualified for and finished 5th at Nationals. Her 11s team ranked #4 in NTR.
- In 2010, Kelly assisted Stephanie Lewellen with NTR’s highest ranked 12s team who qualified for and finished 5th at Nationals. Her 11’s team was the first to make it to the gold bracket at Lone Star where they finished 4th at the nation’s largest qualifier. They finished the season #8 in the North Texas Region.
In addition to coaching volleyball, Kelly is also a teacher at a local middle school. There she teaches seventh and eighth grade physical education, as well as a sixth grade course on Teen Leadership. She coaches the seventh grade volleyball team and the eighth grade basketball team.

Deja S. Erwin
Coach
|
|
|
Coaching Philosophy: Don’t ever think you are the best because that’s when you have stopped learning and growing as a player. I’m all about being technically sound. I believe players should be given the tools to self-correct, turning bad habits into good habits.
Deja began playing volleyball at a young age, and at 16 she began playing club as a middle blocker for Sacramento Select and then Davis Volleyball Club. Deja continued her volleyball career at Sacramento City College and then Baylor University where she had the opportunity to become an outside hitter and libero/DS. Deja’s outstanding performance earned her much recognition throughout her club and college career:
· Most Improved Player all three years of club
· AVCA Two Year College All American
· MVP of the Delta Valley Conference
· Full-ride athletic scholarship to Baylor University
· Big Twelve Commissioners Honor Roll for two consecutive years
Deja began her coaching career as co-head coach for Davis Volleyball Club’s 13s Black, and then after college graduation spent a year as assistant for Victory Volleyball Club’s 14 PVS before coming to MADFROG three years ago. Deja has had a great run at MADFROG where she has assisted the 14s National team, and head coached the 13s National and 16s National teams. This past season Deja’s 13s National team was ranked #1 in the North Texas Region, finished 3rd at the Baltimore Qualifier, and 2nd in Minneapolis where the team earned their National bid, and Deja’s third trip to the Junior Olympics as a coach.
When asked why she believes MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas, Deja says: “It’s because MADFROG is more than just volleyball – it’s family. Everyone I work with is more than just a co-worker. There are more good people always there supporting you, or helping you get through the tough roads of life. As a coach, it’s nice to have a director that is behind you on and off the court. I have yet to see a club that has as many coaches as MADFROG that teach beyond the skill of volleyball … we teach players how to be successful in life and better people in society.” Deja adds one more thing … “MADFROG … how can you forget that name! It’s pure awesomeness!!!”

They will have the challenge to be a leader on and off the court, but more important, not just to be a team mate … to be a part of the MADFROG family.”

Keisha Hyman-Gifth
Coach
|
|
|
Coaching Philosophy: It is important to not only play the physical game of volleyball, but to think strategically. It is when you hone both your physical skill and mental understanding of the game that true competitiveness is achieved. I think volleyball is a fun sport and with each touch of the ball you gain a better understanding of the game. It is when you understand how every little piece works that makes you much better.
Keisha began playing volleyball at the age of 13 for Olympia Volleyball Club’s Relentless Pursuit, and stayed with this club until she was 18. She firmly believes that it was her club experience that helped propel her high school playing career where she earned two league MVP awards. After graduation, Keisha continued her volleyball career as a middle blocker for University of Texas at El Paso.
Keisha has been sharing her passion for volleyball through coaching for the past six years, and is beginning her second year with MADFROG where she has been assistant coach to the 15s Select team and this past summer coached for the MADFROG summer series. Prior to joining MADFROG Keisha’s coaching experience included El Paso Sunspots where she was assistant to the 14s team. In addition, she also spent four years as a summer camp coach at the University of Texas at El Paso.
In Keisha’s opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas because -- “It is a fun and competitive environment and with each touch of the ball our athletes gain a better understanding of the game. They are in an environment where they are pushed and taught the skills needed to improve as an athlete and as a person.”

Coaching Philosophy: I want kids to play with their heart and play with their head. I expect players to excel at fundamentals and work to get better every time they step on the court. I expect players to push themselves and push their teammates to get better every day. I hope they learn to love the game. “Harder, smarter, together.”
Rikki is beginning her third year as a coach for MADFROG, coaching the 16s Elite and assistant to 12s National Jones. This past year, her 12s National team took second at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier, 5th at the Big South Qualifier and 1st at the Lone Star National Qualifier, finished 2nd in the North Texas Region and 5th at Nationals.
Rikki began coaching at Wimberley High School as an assistant/freshman coach in 1999, where her team won two state championships during her coaching tenure. In 2002 she took over the head coaching spot at a local high school where her team has won four district championships, runner up for two years, regional semi finalists in 2004 and two trips to the regional quarterfinals. In addition, she received District Coach of the Year in 2004, 2005 and 2009.
Before coaching, Rikki played middle blocker and outside hitter for two years during college.
In her opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas because – “I think we have coaches that really care about the development of athletes and young women. Our coaching staff is knowledgeable and can be referred to more as family than co-workers.”

Coaching Philosophy: “There are a lot of things in life and in sports that you can’t control, other things take months and years to change or improve. There are 2 things however that an athlete is capable of changing overnight to tremendously raise her value to her team; hustle and attitude. My goal for every team I coach is to turn hustle, good attitude, competition and eventually winning into a habit. Sports have taught me a lot of life lessons and life lessons are teaching me to be a better coach. Regardless of whether or not these athletes continue on to play in college, the lessons that they are learning in volleyball like teamwork, dedication, focus, discipline, fighting and working hard to reach a goal, can serve them so well when they grow up regardless of where their path takes them. I’ve seen many of my athletes go from beginners to tremendous players in a short time, but I truly believe that my biggest accomplishments and my proudest moments are seeing them develop the passion for the game and the discipline and dedication to excel at it. If you have the passion and love for something then you WILL get better.”
Esper has been involved with volleyball for the past 26 years, including 10 years of coaching. During that time Esper has played and coached adults at the Richardson Corporate Challenge where his team medaled 7 years in a row. He coached college players at the University of Texas at Dallas and coached 8 thru 18 year olds at Allen Sports Association, Plano Sports Authority and various area clubs. Esper served on the Allen Sports Association board and helped grow the volleyball program as the coaching director.
In 2008 Esper’s 13s team started the season ranked 22nd in North Texas, they made the Junior Olympics that year and finished 5th in the nation.
In 2009 Esper helped coach a 14s team at the JOs in Miami where they finished 15th in the Open division.
In 2010 Esper coached the first and second 15s teams at Excel. Both teams qualified for JOs. The first team won an Open bid on their first try at the North East Qualifier in Baltimore while the second team earned a bid by finishing first out of 128 teams at the Lone Star National Qualifier. Esper’s two 15s teams won a combined 8 tournaments that year including 3 tournaments in the16s division and a national qualifier (Lone Star).
In the past 4 years Esper was involved with 5 teams that qualified to the Junior Olympics; 3 teams as a head coach and 2 as an assistant.
In the summer of 2010 Esper took a team to Europe to train and compete against Spes Volley in Conegliano, Italy.

Coaching Philosophy: My coaching philosophy comes from my days as a player. Game time performance is a direct result of your effort in practice. The great players have the best work ethic. The motto for my teams will always be “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work.” – author unknown.
Ashley has been with MADFROG for the past five years, beginning her coaching career with MADFROG while still in high school. During this time she has coached ages 11 to 15 … in 2008-2009 she assisted the 13s Select and 15s Elite teams, and in 2009-2010 was the head coach of 14s Select, who were ranked in the top ten in the North Texas region, the 13s Select team and she assisted the 13s National team at the Nationals.
In addition to coaching, Ashley has had a successful playing career. She spent the majority of her club years with Dallas Force, qualifying for Nationals four times, winning the Lonestar National Qualifier in 2006, and was named All-Texas Team Honorable Mention as a senior.
Ashley’s success on the court was noticed by scouts, and she signed with DI Utah Valley University during the NCAA early signing period as a defensive specialist. She finished her college playing career at DII Rockhurst University in Kansas City as a defensive specialist and outside hitter.
Ashley loves coaching, has learned from the best coaches in the game and loves giving back and watching the players she works with grow to love the game as she does. She believes there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the excitement in a player you have coached as they succeed and improve … she bleeds GREEN!
In her opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas because – “There are three things that set MADFROG apart from any other program in North Texas. (1) Experienced and dedicated coaches that know the game and teach it well, (2) A program focused on helping players maximize their potential and getting them to the next level, and (3) Players whose hard work and dedication exemplify all that is good about the best game on earth!”

Coaching Philosophy: It's always important to have fun while playing the game, but it's also important to learn the value of teamwork. Learning to be a respectful and accountable team member while maintaining a positive outlook can be a life-long lesson for these young girls as they become adults.
Page has had a passion for volleyball for over 30 years, playing throughout high school and college. She took that passion ever further when she began coaching young girls at an early age to teach them the basics of the game, but more importantly, the importance of sportsmanship, team work and respect.
Page began her club coaching career with MADFROG last year when she assisted with the 11s Select team, leading these young girls to an impressive season where they qualified for Gold in three of their five tournaments. For the 2010-2011 season, Page will take over as Head Coach of the 11s Select and looks forward to a great season.
When asked what makes MADFROG the premiere club in North Texas – “It’s the people … and it starts with the coaches. MADFROG truly is a great big family.”

Coaching Philosophy: When in trouble on the court, always return to the basic of volleyball and you will correct the problem … have fun! If you’re not having fun, you are not giving 100%
Jim has been involved with volleyball for many years, including playing middle hitter for eight years in club ball for the US Navy where he was team captain for seven years and was honored as Outstanding Hitter for four consecutive years.
Jim is beginning his second year with MADFROG, where last year he coached the 15s Elite and assisted the 15s National team at the Nationals. Prior to joining MADFROG he spent eight years with another North Texas club and was the junior varsity coach at Ursuline Academy.
In his opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas – “Because the directors truly care about the success of the girls and they strive to get quality coaches.”

Ally Wade
Coach

Coaching Philosophy: I am a fairly strict coach who focuses a lot on fundamentals and form. I feel that a hard work ethic, heart, drive and competitiveness are qualities every athlete needs to have. However, it is important to remember that it is a game; if you cannot have fun while playing, there is no point!
Ally began her volleyball career at an early age, playing with North Texas Fury when she was 15 years old, and moving on to North Dallas Juniors for 16s, 17s and 18s. Following high school Ally continued playing at University of Texas at Arlington as an outside hitter. During her club, high school and college years she achieved great success:
· During her 17s season with North Dallas Juniors her team qualified for the open division where they finished 19th, a higher finish than any other club team from the south.
· All-District her sophomore, junior and senior years of high school, including first team her junior and senior years.
· Team captain her junior and senior years of high school
· Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll
· UT Arlington Super Scholar Athlete
Ally has been coaching volleyball for the past five years, including at the Plano East and Plano Senior High camps. Prior to joining MADFROG this year, Ally coached at Team PSA Volleyball where she coached the 13s Black team during the 2008-2009 season leading them to a top 15 ranking in the region, and last season she coached the 14s Black team. In addition to coaching on the club front at Team PSA, she also coached Power League, School Team Tryout Prep Program, Volleyball Skills Academy and this past year was the director of STTPP, PSA’s school team tryout prep program.
In her opinion, MADFROG is the premiere club in North Texas because – “I have been so impressed with how quickly, seeing that it is still a relatively new club, that MADFROG has risen to the top in the region in a number of age groups. Not only that, but to have multiple teams making Nationals, and one winning open Nationals, is just amazingly impressive. I also have been impressed with the competitiveness and camaraderie that seems to go along with being a part of MADFROG volleyball.”
